Courses will focus on drawing and painting through projects using graphite, colored pencils, ink, watercolors, acrylic paint, and mixed media. Students will explore big questions and important themes in 2-D artmaking as they work to create self-portraits, still life compositions, landscapes, interior and exterior scenes with linear perspective, organic elements, and abstract designs.
Courses will include projects that hone specific skills used in ceramics and sculpture, incorporating clay, wood, wire, metal, textiles, and found objects. Students will explore additive and subtractive processes as they hand build work learning a variety of construction techniques. Advanced students will co-design project goals and themes.
